Abstract
Religious jurisprudence (Fiqh) and ethics are two fundamental components of the Islamic epistemological system, both significantly influencing human behavior guidance. Sometimes, a duality and separation between these two domains are observed in understanding and implementing the religious rulings. The main research question is: what is the relationship between religious jurisprudence and ethics in religious jurisprudence conduct of the prophet (PBUH), and what impact does this connection have on the social system of Muslims? This study has been conducted using a descriptive-analytical method, based on library research. Findings indicate that the Prophet’s conducts (sīra) present a synergy model between religious jurisprudence, as the mandatory framework, and ethics, as the value-endowing spirit. This implies that desirable religious behavior is conceived through the integration of legal rulings with ethical virtues. The Prophet (PBUH) intertwined religious jurisprudential rulings with ethical considerations such as justice, human dignity, and social solidarity in all aspects of individual and social life, from worship to politics and economics. Consequently, detaching from the Prophet’s jurisprudential conducts leads to ethical crises and social inefficiency, while returning to this model contrives cultural reform and human relation reconstruction in Islamic societies.
